Al Jazeera Cameraman Sami al-Haj Released from Guantanamo

Arrested in Pakistan in December 2001, Sami al-Haj spent nearly six-and-a-half years at Guantanamo without charge or trial. He had been on a more than a year-long hunger strike to protest his imprisonment. Finally, some justice for at least one illegally detained person. God willing Guantanamo Bay will be shut down with the next administration and we will be able to put behind us some of the injustice that has been done. I pray that those who have been illegally detained will be able to find some peace and get on with their lives. You can listen to the interview at Democracy Now!. Peace.
