Jenin, Jenin

The documentary Jenin, Jenin, by Palestinian actor/director, Mohammed Bakri, takes a very candid and raw look at the destruction of the Jenin refugee camp shortly after it was destroyed by the Israeli Army in April of 2002. Countless numbers of Palestinians died in the fighting, and human rights groups have deemed this particular incident as an Israeli war crime. There are interviews with residents of the Jenin refugee camp, among them, a Palestinian doctor who’s son was killed in the violence. The camp was under heavy fire for days, and was completely cut off. This film tells the story of the siege, and takes a glimpse into what like is like under Israeli occupation. I highly recommend this film to anyone interested in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Peace.
